Anyone who volunteers for an annual event can waive their right to complete a Criminal Reference Check; however, all volunteers, including family members of Community Living employees, must still understand their rights and responsibilities and sign a Special Events Volunteer Form with the Event Manager. If you are 18 years of age and older and wish to do direct volunteer work, a Criminal Reference Check must be completed and kept on file with the Executive Director. Also, time sheets for volunteers are available and should be submitted to the Volunteer Facilitator. We wish to recognize and follow the efforts of volunteers.

Direct Volunteer:

Direct volunteers spend time assisting people to establish natural connections in their community using:

Assist someone to participate in and be included in activities to the best of their abilities through required support

Indirect Volunteer:

An indirect volunteer provides a person with a developmental disability with behind-the-scenes support. For example:

Providing administrative assistance
Becoming involved as a Board member and/or committee member
Organizing, promoting, and or helping during special events
Assisting at presentations, displays, or workshops to promote Community Living and its initiatives
